I owe a lot of the success, connections, and work samples in my career to Jacques Spitzer and Jeff Campbell.
Jacques is the CEO of Raindrop, a 4x Emmy® award-winning, San Diego-based agency most known for its Dr. Squatch Super Bowl ad.
Jeff is the former CEO of Burger King, former SVP of Brand for Pepsi-Cola, ex-Chairman of the Pillsbury Restaurant Group, and started the Hospitality and Tourism Management Master’s Program at San Diego State University.
The three of us have worked together every which way for years, so we decided to write a book.
Previously, I wrote Jacques Spitzer’s book, “People Love Turkey Sandwiches.” It’s a light and easy read driven by word play, illustrations, and parables that impart new perspectives on business and life. Jeff liked the idea and had an outline for a book on critical thinking.
“Think Better” combines Jeff’s wisdom, Jacques’ charisma, and Raindrop’s creativity to inspire people to do just that—think better. My job was to soak up the knowledge, facilitate discussions, and write short chapters with crafty copy and sharp takeaways.
“The Fateful Yawn,” “I See Jesus in That Tortilla,” and “Nemawashi ('Don’t Shock the Roots')" are a few of my favorites. We also brought in some very esteemed business leaders in Jacques’ and Jeff’s networks to chime in with guest blurbs.
My wife and I flew out to SD for the “Think Better” launch party at Raindrop’s sprawling production studio. I’ve never seen so many smart, uplifting, warm-hearted people in one place.
